Flat battery? Can’t start the car? Bring it to Us. We test first, then fit, so we get you moving again. We serve Medway drivers in Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham, Rochester, Strood, and Gravesend. You get a clear price before we start, so there are no surprises.
Not sure if your battery is failing? Look out for these warning signs:
Car struggles to start or takes longer to turn over
Dashboard battery warning light
Electrical issues with lights, windows, or radio
Corrosion or swelling on the battery
Battery more than 4–5 years old
If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s time to get your battery checked.
Step 1: Check & Test
We start by asking exactly what happened to any slow cranks, dim lights, recent jump-starts, or warning messages, then make the car safe to work on. We test the battery’s state of charge and health, check alternator output under load, and confirm starter performance.
We also inspect for loose, corroded, or damaged cables and earth points, and, if symptoms suggest it, perform a quick parasitic drain/voltage-drop check. All findings are recorded so we can show you clear results.
Step 2: Explain & Quote
We walk you through the test results in plain language, what passed, what failed, and what that means day-to-day. If a recharge or cable clean will do, we’ll say so; if parts need replacing, we’ll outline the why.
You’ll get a clear, written price with parts and labour separated, plus estimated time to complete and any sensible options (repair vs. replace), so you can choose confidently with no pressure.
Step 3: Your Approval & Match
Nothing starts until you give the go-ahead. When replacement is the right call, we match the correct specification for your car or van size, terminal layout, amp-hour capacity, and cold-cranking amps, and the right technology (e.g., standard, EFB, or AGM for stop-start systems).
Where applicable, we’ll note if battery registration/coding is recommended to keep the vehicle’s charging strategy accurate.
Step 4: Fit & Protect
We remove the old battery safely and protect vehicle electronics while we work. Terminals and clamps are cleaned, cables are tightened, and anti-corrosion protection is applied.
The new battery is fitted, secured with the proper bracket/torque, and settings are checked, clearing any battery-related codes and restoring time/date or radio presets if needed. The old unit is set aside for responsible recycling.
Step 5: Final Checks & Go
We start the engine and re-test charging and starting performance, confirm a firm, reliable crank, and ensure no warning lights remain. If we addressed drains or cable issues, we re-check those, too.
Before you drive away, we share simple care tips like avoiding repeated short trips, what to watch for as an early warning, and how a maintainer can help if the vehicle sits, so you leave confident and ready to go.
Not sure yet? Watch for slow cranking, dim lights, or a click when you turn the key. If you need jump-starts often, the battery may be weak. A battery or engine light can also point to a problem. The car may die at idle or struggle after short stops.
Cold days can make it worse. A swollen or leaking case is a warning sign. If the car has been parked for a long time, the battery may be flat. If you see any of these, book a test. We check first, so you only pay for what you need.
